Jamie is Authentic
Today is Jamie’s birthday, and so, I am writing a little piece about her today. When I was thinking about it, the first thing I thought of was ‘Authentic’. Jamie is truly a ‘one-of-kind’ person. Through dealing with personal obstacles, she has endured and kept her originality and truth. I have learned a lot from Jamie about being brave and being yourself. ‘True to the core’ should be a chapter in Jamie’s book of life.
Jamie is the business owner of Hoopspiration. She created the business to share Hula Hooping with the world and its benefits. Having dealt with asthma the vast majority of her life, Jamie was seeking something to assist her health. That’s when she discovered Hula Hooping. After feeling the affects on her breathing and weight loss, she was quickly becoming a pro and promoter of Hula Hooping. Jamie then, started creating Hula Hoops herself, and the rest is history. She has been running Hoopspiration for almost 20 years, building Hoops, selling Hoops, and attending events to perform with her Hula Hoops. Eventually, adding fire to the mix as well.
I think Jamie is too close, sometimes, to see how brave she is, doing what she does. Jamie is Autistic, has PMDD, anxiety, and PTSD. She also has two boys, who also are diagnosed with Autism, bringing with them special needs to care for. She has daily obstacles besides just Life throwing punches here and there. For Jamie to keep doing her business after the boys were born is brave to me. For Jamie to perform in front of others is brave to me, not everyone has the gull to even try, let alone do it for almost 20 years and counting.
I have been with Jamie a mere 5 years, and I have learned so much about myself and the world. People are very similar, it’s true, but each person should be treated like their very own entity, because we all have a very unique identity and place in the world. I am grateful for Jamie’s authenticity in a world of a lot of fake and betrayal. I hope this birthday Jamie feels amazing and grateful for all she’s done and all she does, cuz I am 1 fan that is not going away, and not turning down the volume or frequency I yell it from the rooftops!
