Peak of Summertime

July, a time for the Sun

The Summertime, like most of the year, is full of activities, however, a bit different from Wintertime. In that, we are outside a lot more for business purposes. And for fun! Since we live in North Dakota, however, with usually longer Winters and cold weather. Summertime is ‘prime time’ for vending outside. On Sundays, we attend community arts events, as part of our commitment to the community. On Thursdays, we attend Minot’s ‘Thursdays Downtown’, a weekly event for people to shop local food and merchant vendors and listen to local musicians. Starting last week, we are now, coming together downtown in Citizen’s Alley for our ‘mini festival’ every week.

Citizen’s Alley is a specifically designated area for our Thursday Downtown Festival and for our community to just come together and hang out. We were one of the first vendors to ever use the Citizen’s Alley and attended the grand opening last week. A fun event with some very talented musicians. We had a great turnout and hope that this new devoted space will help small businesses in Minot thrive!

Arts in the Park

The Arts in the Park is an event, held by the city, to celebrate and promote local artists. Throughout the Summer, on Sundays, we gather at Oak Park’s Main stage or side stage for music from our local city band or from local musicians. Hoopspiration, our founding company and performance affiliate business, comes out, bringing flow toys for the public to use. We gather towards the back or side of the event, providing some space with flow toys for children and adults, away from interfering with viewing the concert.

Tonight, is the city band’s last show of the Summer for Arts in the Park. I for one love orchestra and band music! You don’t have to have lyrics to have a beautiful melody touch you or some musical notes resonate with your emotions. We will attend and dance! And share our flow toys with the community! We welcome the community to come join us and hear their local musicians!
